Preparing the Future

The Career Readiness Program is designed to get students ready to look for jobs, submit applications, and excel in interviews. All guidance is tailored to the tech industry.

The program connects students to a community of supportive peers. It provides opportunities to actively practice skills like building an effective résumé and preparing for a technical interview.

For Students: What to Expect

Our Career Readiness Program sessions include:

  • short lectures led by expert facilitators
  • in-class activities designed to help participants learn from their peers
  • various opportunities to learn from volunteers from the tech industry

To help prepare and debrief, participants are expected to review online modules before and after sessions.

  • Women (trans and cis) and nonbinary students and other underrepresented groups in tech
  • Current undergraduate, degree-seeking students at a CUNY college
  • Enrolled in at least 1 course at CUNY college during the Fall 2021 semester
  • Good academic standing (2.0+ GPA)
  • 18+ years of age by November 1, 2021
  • Living in the United States in January 2022

Although applications for CaRe are currently closed, interested students are encouraged to check the website for updates.

We especially welcome Black, Latina, and Indigenous women (trans and cis), and nonbinary students to apply.
